Learning at Beth David
Beth David provides unparalleled Jewish and secular education for children and adults of all ages in a warm and welcoming environment. The Gordon Schools of Beth David Congregation include an Early Childhood Center, a Day School for children through fifth grade, and most recently the Tikvah Center, the only autism-specific program within a Jewish Day School in Florida. The Beth David Religious School is a comprehensive after school program for families with children in kindergarten through 7th grade. The kindergarten–5th grade program fuses Jewish education with games, music, arts & crafts, field trips and family programming; the curriculum for 6th and 7th grade additionally includes bar and bat mitzvah preparation, such as blessings and recited during Torah and Haftarah service, trop (tunes) and Shabbat prayers. Our High School programs are conducted by Rabbi Epelbaum in a laidback discussion-based atmosphere. Confirmation class for students in grades 8-10 focuses on community service, ethical issues and Jewish and Israeli life, and our “Jewish Life in College” program for students in 11th and 12th grade explores ways to live Jewishly and how to face potential challenges on college campuses. Our Adult Education program is geared towards families and adults of all ages, and is designed to accommodate both those who work and those with more flexible schedules. Rabbi Epelbaum, Cantor Julie and a host of distinguished guests conduct seminars throughout the year that explore the spiritual, ethical and ritual aspects of Judaism. We also offer conversion classes throughout the year conducted both in English and Spanish, and are proud to have Rabbi Epelbaum represent Beth David as a teacher of The Florence Melton Adult-Mini School.Click here for more information about our Adult Education program.
